ADVANCED TOPIC
Data Sources are used to point to different physical databases.
Data Sources can be access from the Data Discovery section of the main menu on the Data tab:
Data Source Manager
A single DSF database can manage multiple physical database connections called a Data Source. Most DSF installations only have one Data Source.
Each DSF database has its own Members, Security, and Options. Having separate DSF databases is like running separate copies of DSF. It's highly recommended that you consult with Data Selections if you believe you need more than one DSF database or Data Source.
Data is organized for a specific physical database within DSF. Each user will require separate access permissions for each Data Source.
There is usually only one Data Source used for actual production reporting. Some users create separate Data Sources for testing and experimentation however it can also be used to manage multiple production databases.
